On Saturday, March 8, 2025, the National Hellenic Society (NHS) had the distinct honor of receiving the prestigious Hellenic Heritage National Public Service Award at the American Hellenic Institute’s (AHI) 51st Annual Hellenic Heritage Achievement & National Public Service Awards Dinner in Washington, DC. This renowned event celebrates individuals and organizations that have made exemplary contributions to both the Greek American community and society at large.  The NHS was joined by two distinguished co-honorees, George Logothetis, Founder and Executive Chairman of Libra Group, and Kostas Alexakis, entrepreneur and businessman.

The NHS was recognized for its dedication to preserving and promoting Hellenic heritage in the United States through a range of impactful programs and initiatives. Among the key programs highlighted was the Heritage Greece Program®, which provides a transformative educational experience for students, fostering a deeper connection to Greek history, culture, and identity. This prestigious award was graciously accepted by NHS Chair of the Board, Lea Soupata, alongside two of the 1000+ outstanding alumni of the Heritage Greece Program® Francesca Rimbos and Jenna Temple, who represented the organization’s continued success in nurturing future generations of Greek American leaders.

The AHI Hellenic Heritage Achievement and National Public Service Awards Dinner serves as a vital platform to honor and acknowledge the individuals and groups whose work exemplifies the enduring values and rich traditions of Hellenic heritage. As the event continues to shine a light on these significant contributions, the NHS is deeply appreciative of the recognition, which underscores its longstanding commitment to ensuring that Greek heritage remains vibrant and relevant for generations to come.

With this recognition, NHS reaffirms its mission to promote and preserve the legacy of Hellenism, ensuring its continued influence and appreciation in the modern world.
